The Philosopher’s Index in Print

The Philosopher’s Index is comprised of three main sections:

  • the Subject Index
  • the Author Index
  • the Book Review Index

The journal articles, books, anthologies and contributions to anthologies are organized by subject and by author.

The Subject Index alphabetically lists the subject headings and proper names that most accurately describe the content of each article and book, as determined by the editors. Each entry cites the title and author of the publication.

The Author Index alphabetically lists the author(s) of each article and book. Each entry includes the complete bibliographic citation and, in most cases, an author-written abstract.

The Book Review Index provides an author and title listing of each book being reviewed, along with the citation. In addition, the name of the reviewer, the journal where the review is found and complete citation information is included for the review.
